16 May FINE ART IN LAS VEGAS: SEVEN MAGIC MOUNTAINS, BY UGO RONDINONE
Seven Magic Mountains is a site-specific public art installation of monumental scale, located ten miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada. The installation features seven towers composed of brightly colored boulders stacked upon one another, juxtaposed with the barren landscape of the Mojave desert. Originally the installation was scheduled to be on view for two years, but has been extended until the end of 2018 – and, possibly beyond. The installation has been widely popular with visitors and locals, proving the need for more public fine art in the Las Vegas valley.
From Las Vegas: Follow I-15 S to Sloan Rd (exit 25). Turn left (east) to Las Vegas Boulevard. Drive approximately 7 miles south on Las Vegas Blvd. and the artwork will appear on your left (east); open daily, free to the public. For further information, visit sevenmagicmountains.com
