About This Project

Michele was a curatorial advisor for “Octagon,” a photographic narrative by Los Angeles based photographer Kevin Lynch that documents the Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC) over a six year period, with essays by cultural critic Dave Hickey, playwright David Mamet and Forward and Introduction by Lorenzo Fertitta and Dana White. This limited edition, 50 lbs, 800 page tome showcasing mixed martial arts fighters moments before, during and after their intense matches was handmade in Italy using pristine leather and specialty inks. The book comes in an edition of 450 and a Deluxe Collector’s edition of 150, featuring a signed and numbered c-print. In addition, there are 22 unique limited edition, large-scale, photographs by Kevin Lynch for which Michele was instrumental in the selection and publishing of the entire series.
